How Thick Are Our Brick Slips?

Let's take a closer look at the thickness of brick slips and how it can impact your project.
One question that often arises when it comes to our range of brick slips is their thickness. The truth is, the thickness can vary depending on the specific type of brick slip you choose however, we do specify the dimensions of all of our brick slips on our product pages.
Our standard brick slips, which are the most commonly sold, have a thickness of approximately 15mm (give or take). This thickness allows the authentic character of the bricks to shine through, provides insulation, and reduces the risk of breakages. These brick tiles are cut from real bricks and are thin enough to be fit a variety of spaces. They can be installed using traditional tiling techniques (although you point brick slips not grout), making them a convenient choice for interior and exterior applications.
In contrast, our larger brick slips are thicker at up to 22mm thick. These brick slips are crafted using modern techniques and are not cut from existing brick. Instead, they are purposefully manufactured in thin moulds, resulting in a thickness of just 22mm. Despite their increased depth, these purpose-made brick tiles offer the same structural integrity as their 15mm counterparts. This makes them suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, giving you flexibility in your design choices.
It's worth noting that the thickness of brick slips can also impact their weight and installation cost. Thicker slips tend to be heavier and may require additional support during installation, which can increase the overall expense.
To recap, brick slips come in different thicknesses to cater to various applications. When deciding on the right brick slips for your project, be sure to consider the thickness that will best suit your needs. This will help ensure the long-lasting durability and success of your renovation.
