How Much To Order?
How Much To Order?
Boxes
Our boxes are sold with enough stone cladding to cover 0.8 square meters when used with 20mm spacers. To work out the amount you need simply calcualte your area and then divide by 0.8
For example a wall measuring 2 meters x 2 meters is 4 square meters. Our boxes cover 0.8 square meters so you would need 4 divided by 0.8 = 5 boxes of stone cladding.
Corners
Corners are sold per corner pack, each conrer pack contains enough corner slips to cover 1 Linear meter of height. For example, if you have a chimney breast that measures 2 meters high on both corners you would need 4 meters of corners. 4 x Corner Packs.
We do advise ordering an extra 10% in both boxes and corners of stone cladding to allow for cuts and wastage.
How To Install Stone Cladding?
How To Install Stone Cladding?
Installing Stone Cladding is the easiest of wall coverings to install, much simpler then tiles and mistakes are very easily forgiven due to the random nature in which our stone cladding is designed to be installed in.
Following the below steps will make it a walk in the park and ensure that you have a perfect finish.
Within this Installation guide, we will advise of all materials needed, the best methods and how to look after your stone cladding to ensure the best possible result. If there is anything in this guide that does not answer your stone slip questions please get in touch with a member of our live chat team.
What You Need
When asking" How can you install stone cladding" The materials you need can vary but in general, the below are advised. If you have any questions about the advised materials for your stone cladding, do let us know
1. Stone Slips
2. Adhesive
3. Primer
4. Mortar
5. Sealer (optional)
Installing
To install your Stone Cladding You want to use a 6mm notched tile trowel and your mixing trowel.
For your first row you can start from the centre of the wall, fit your first stone by spreading the adhesive on to the wall and on to the back of the stone cladding and pressing it against the wall. Then continure to install the next stone slip and so on until, your row is almost complete.
Now that you have installed stone slips along the bottom row you will probably have a gap that is smaller then a whole stone. This is where cutting comes in to play. Measure the remaining space e.g 40mm, you will then deduct 20mm (to allow for a natrual mortar gap) and mark your stone slip at 20mm.
Using a wet tile saw or angle grinder, cut this peice from the stone slip. Once cut you will then spread adhesive on the rear and place this in the final gap with the cut end of the piece facing the edge of the wall. Now that you have your first row complete, the next row, you will start exactly as you did before.
